How many of you are out there, have a home party plan business; and are diligently chasing after your prospects in the hope of making a sale? I once attended a training call with a high up Consultant of a given company. I thought I was on the show punked…you know the one where Ashton Kutcher is running around playing pranks on unsuspecting celebs!

This very high up home party consultant (lets call her an NVP), was training on prospecting and one of her tips was, in the morning while parents are waiting with their children for the school bus, go to the bus stop and tell them about your business…now I don’t know about you…but early morning trying to get the kids sent off to school, I am not particularly interested in hearing about portion #9 or whatever else is going to change the world…no offense but…way too early!

1.Driving all over town meeting ‘hot prospects’ lunching, wining and dining ‘non-starters’ with no vision. Have you seen the gas prices lately?

2.Here is my personal favorite, The List of 100 of Your Closest Family and Friends! Do you even know 100 people? Like Really? Ha, there is nothing like getting into a business to really discover you don’t have close family and friends. Bottom line money talks and they are not going to part with it for you. Reality Bites!

3. Another one that I love is the ‘Must Have Home Party Plan Product Samples’ Look people will use you and abuse you…how many doggy bags have you actually received back, with sign ups? How many people use the product, you know like dine and ditch? Who is out hundreds of dollars?

4. Invite strangers into your home and have a home party – Yay! Ok I don’t know about you, but often it feels like an ambush at best. I like to visit as much as anyone else, but get it visit, not get compelled into being part of a downline!
