Home Party Plan Challenge: The 3 foot rule is being abused!

ngs, hope you are enjoying the summer!
If you are true home party plan consultant, I know like myself you have been taught the three foot rule! And just like a pair of heels (still trying to figure out who decided that was a sexy thing for women), lets face, just not the most effective method of marketing out there!
Have you ever wondered where or who coined the phrase 3 foot rule? If you’ve been in a home party plan for any period of time you have been introduced to the concept of the 3-foot rule, i.e., “anyone within 3 feet of you is someone you can talk to about your business opportunity or products.”
If you have tried it, you know it is just not natural. You were left feeling awkward with the realization that it was one of the most horrible things you have ever done.

Here’s the main reason: Chances are you didn’t focus on your prospect’s wants and what would be in it for them to learn more. What is worse you probably manipulated the conversation or approach to get the information in someone’s hands!
Deadly Home Party Plan Mistake # 11: Giving up and quitting when you are beset by temporary defeat! I know of what I speak because I have been there. Sometimes you just want to throw in the towel!
The 3-Foot Rule Explained
There was a man (strangely its always a man), there was the prospect of gold and there were prospectors and there was some labor involved.
Okay so the man got going, struck some gold. He went back home with the proof. He got some family members to invest in him and his quest for gold. They dug and well got a good amount of gold. Just a few more loads and they would be out of debt. They drilled and drilled and drilled with no gold in sight (because the lode went dry). Dejected and tired they quit. To save face they sold their equipment to a man who was the equivalent of our modern day scrap metal technician. Well this particular ‘junk man” called in an engineer to survey the land. The engineer declared the drilling and digging for gold a veritable failure! Why? Because those initial miners did not understand “fault lines!” The geological survey indicated that had the initial miners of this precious ore continued in their efforts, they would have in 3 feet literally struck gold! Needless to say, one mans’ junk became another mans treasure!
