Just finished watching a very riveting basketball game.  Ahhh the passion, the sweat and oh how I wish they would bring back the short shorts for men…oops!  So it got me thinking

Why Play In Home Show Party Games?

When a group of people are preparing to participate in social event of any nature, there needs to be some breaking down of inhibitions before they become group participants.

For your home party to become a safe haven for your home party attendees to air the questions and concerns facing to the problems there needs to be trust created with each other and open communication.

Home party plan games tend to be cooperative games that also help set the tone of an action.  Remember in my post, profiting through personalities, I spoke of the different character traits people possesss?  Well in home show party games will allow you to break the ice effectively, allow you to identify the personalities of your attendees.

Increasing party plan sales is the order of the day.  You want to do what is in your power to facilitate this in a manner that is fun and pleasing to all!

Home party games fall under two categories
1. Cooperative Games?

Cooperative games emphasize participation, challenge and fun rather then defeating someone. Cooperative games focus on fun and interaction rather than competition and alienation. Cooperative games are not new. There may be competition involved, but the outcome of the competition is not sitting out or losing. Instead, it may involve switching teams so that everyone ends up on the winning team.  A great example can be home party olympic games.

2. Initiative Games?

Initiative games are fun, cooperative, challenging games in which the group is confronted with a specific problem to solve. Initiative games can be used for several reasons.  The games can be used to demonstrate and teach leadership skills to people, which helps to promote the growth of trust and problem-solving skills in groups.  Games demonstrate a process of thinking about experiences that helps people learn and practice responsibility. Fun outdoor games at home for a party create great competition, without leaving anyone out e.g., spoon and egg!

The Red Queen Of Home Party Plans Business Failure : Running Around In Circles

You know what I am finding?  Everything is a lesson and has a lesson in it!  I never thought that Alice In Wonderland would be so riveting and filled with home party success tips!

I am going to go a little biological on you here, but it will be well worth it:

The Red Queen’s Hypothesis, Red Queen, “Red Queen’s race” or “Red Queen Effect” is an evolutionary hypothesis. The term is taken from the Red Queen’s race in Lewis Carroll’s Through the Looking-Glass. The Red Queen said, “It takes all the running you can do, to keep in the same place.” The Red Queen Principle can be stated thus:

“For an evolutionary system, continuing development is needed just in order to maintain its fitness relative to the systems it is co-evolving with.”[1]

Here is a brief excerpt:

“They were running hand in hand, and the Queen went so fast that it was all she could do to keep up with her: and still the Queen kept crying ‘Faster! Faster!’ but Alice felt she could not go faster, thought she had not breath left to say so. The most curious part of the thing was, that the trees and the other things round them never changed their places at all: however fast they went, they never seemed to pass anything”.

I recently received a call from a woman in Arbonne International who had been at it for 2 years.  I asked her what level she had managed to reach.  She told me that repeatedly she had made it to District Manager, was not able to maintain this position nor break past it.

She wanted to have me coach her, BUT she didn’t want to have to pay for it.  In fact she sent me an email that said, “I really can’t afford to waste money. My business means so much to me.”

My dear home party consultants, time is money!

Ok 2 years, never getting beyond the entry level position, spending time online searching for information.  You see people believe that the internet is free.  Yes, the internet is free, but only if your time is worthless!

Which is well and good.

A few days later I get an email (now I have been added to a list without my permission) stating, “Would you like to learn how you could spend time with your family and enjoy a lucrative salary? Arbonne and a little faith, is changing lives. Find out how!”

Here is what Alice says after a particularly tiring run to nowhere:

“Suddenly, just as Alice was getting quite exhausted, they stopped, and she found herself sitting on the ground, breathless and giddy. Alice looked round her in great surprise. ‘Why, I do believe we’ve been under this tree the whole time! Everything’s just as it was! ”Of course it is,’ said the Queen, ‘what would you have it?’

‘Well, in our country,’ said Alice, still panting a little, ‘you’d generally get to somewhere else – if you ran very fast for a long time, as we’ve been doing.’ ‘A slow sort of country!’ said the Queen. ‘Now, here, you see, it takes all the running you can do, to keep in the same place. If you want to get somewhere else, you must run at least twice as fast as that!’

Hmm…just how fast are you running and why?

As a home party consultant, when it comes to product placement you are facing a rather odd challenge.  For you the issue here is you must think of convenience to buy instead of place.
To increase home party sales you must consider the path to the buyer, channels of distribution, cost (price) trade off and control issues (well many women have spouses that are not pro spending outside the usual lines!)

In many of my consultations I find this to be the greatest stumbling block for many home party consultants.  You see, for many, it is more convenient to by at Wal-Mart, The Mall or other places rather than attend home parties!
Why is the allure of in home parties not appealing to many.  Again convenience.  You see when I am at the mall I am bound to do more than just by a few products, so I get to kill one bird with two stones so to speak.
Home Party Plan Business Success is not a myth.  The key here in the home party plans business is of course the issue of planning.  To reap the benefits of the placement vs convenience to buy you must plan ahead, overcome all possible objection before you encounter them!
Selling merchandise at home parties involves knowing what each subset of your target market prefers to buy, where they would rather buy : the internet, catalogue, over the phone, using credit cards!

In my last post about target marketing we spoke of understanding your customer.  Now here we will see why,  if you really want to know how to book home parties at unheard of rate, here is my take on the issue, work backwards, what do I mean by this?
A very practical approach to determine the best channels and methods to generate more home party bookings and home party sales would be to start at the point of final purchase. Who is the final consumer or user of your product? Where does that person look when buying your type of product? If she buys your product or something similar to it from another home party consultant or retailer such as estee lauder, then what competitive edge is your competition offering and why is your prospective customer buying?

Secondly ask your friends, neighbors and other consultants.  Conduct your own personal impromptu surveys!

Once the various channels have been identified, it is easier to determine which ones make the most sense or which ones offer the path of least resistance.

Themes might be as simple as Men in Tights! (football for the ladies), Short Shorts (basket-ball), FrightMares, Fright Night.  10 different ways to say thank you.  Jingle bells! Girls night out (lingerie parties), Margarita Themes (recipe exchange) and list goes on and on.  Be creative

Be sure to highlight the hostess rewards for booking a show, and you are in business

My name is Patricia Kagwiria Makhulo a.k.a Party Plan Pat (Home Party Plan Consultant) and I am a renegade Marketer!

I have lived an very eventful, adventurous life, loved every minutes and know there is more to come.  Many have questioned me relative to my knowledge in marketing.  They want to know from whence I obtained my prowess and business savvy!

When I met Ann I was a frustrated, angry and bothered Melaleuca Distributor.  I was dissatisfied with the results I was obtaining.  I was one who knew without a doubt that there was a more excellent way to build a successful business.  I was a renegade myself, so it comes as no surprise that one renegade attracted another!

I was coached, trained, mentored, straightened out and molded by Ann Sieg.  I was a diamond in the rough, by the time she was done with me…well!

Home Party Plan Monkey Traps: Lessons Home Party Consultant Can Learn From The Jungles Of Africa

In the many consultations I give, there is a common thread, too many people are sooo afraid of letting go of a dollar, in order to gain their freedom.

What is tax? It is a penalty for parked money. You do no get taxed for money in flow. That is why the rich keep getting richer and the poor keep getting poorer.

My rich dad also says there is only two things in investing, time and money. Now most people are really afraid of losing money. They are so afraid of losing money that they do not invest time or money into anything else. You can always make the money back. You can lose money, but you can always make money back but you can never make time back. The issue here is time and how you invest that time wisely. Robert Kiyosaki, Rich Plan, Poor Plan

Know this, all that glitters is not gold. Allow me to illustrate!

You know what a monkey trap is? An interesting system has been used for capturing monkeys in the jungles of Africa. The goal is to take the monkeys alive and unharmed for shipment to zoos of America. Just like it is your goal to get your home party recruits alive, money in hand ready to buy in an honest and humane fashion.

In an extremely humane way, the captors use heavy bottles, with long narrow necks, into which they deposit a handful of sweet-smelling nuts. Alternatively, the monkey hunters drill a hole in a coconut, just big enough for a monkey to stick in his hand and arm, so long as the hand is open and extended. However, if the hand is in a fist, it cannot enter or come out. The bottles and coconuts are dropped on the jungle floor, and the captors return the next morning to find a monkey trapped next to each bottle or coconut in hand.

The monkey hunters put a worthless shiny stone in the coconut, big enough to ensure the monkey’s hand cannot come out while clinching the stone. The monkey is curious. He is attracted to the shiny object he spots inside the hole. Sticks in his hand and grasps the shiny, worthless pebble. Now he is possessive. He won’t let go. The coconut is anchored to the tree. The monkey hunters come. The monkey is screaming in fear, but he is captured, because he is holding onto a shiny, worthless pebble which becomes more important to him than his freedom.

How is it accomplished? The monkey, attracted by the aromatic scent of the nuts, comes to investigate the bottle, the nuts, and is trapped. The monkey can’t take its hand out of the bottle as long it’s holding the nuts, but it is unwilling to open its hand and let them go. The bottle is too heavy to carry away, so the monkey is trapped.

We may smile at the foolish monkeys, but how often we hold to our problems so tenaciously as the monkeys hold to the nuts in the bottle. And so, figuratively we carry our bottle around with us, feeling very sorry for ourselves, and begging for sympathy from others, even from God.
This morning I’m lying in my hotel room asking myself - what ideas, concepts or attachments do I need to be willing to give up in order to allow myself to grasp a bigger and better concept? What do I have to be willing to let go? I like to think of myself as a pretty logical person, devoid of superstition, and dismissive of mythology. But I know that I get very attached to my ideas, my opinions. Sometimes it’s hard to let go of tightly-held ideas but, unless we do, we don’t grow.

One idea I let go of a couple of years ago was that I had to earn an income. It was a major revelation to me when I realized that if I sold all of my assets, I could afford to live quite comfortably for several years while I built a start-up business. I let go of the idea that I needed to cling on to the assets I had gained, like those spider monkeys. And it was one of the best things I ever did.
